More from my Loving and Wonderful Man. To get the full effect of this one you must picture the paper on which i received these romantic words. An old brown piece of paper with burnt edges shaped as a scroll.

I do not expect the spirit of Penelope to enter your breast, for I am not mighty or fearless (Only our love is brave, a rock against the wind) I cry and cringe when the cyclops peers into my cave. I do not expect your letters to be lengthy, and of love flourery and philosop for words are not our bond. I need only the hard fact of your existence for my substance. Our love is a rock against the wind not soft like silk or lace. In our time apart I still carry your heart as you will continue to have mine for all of eternity.
Forever and Always Yours,
JUSTIN

The Call

"The Call"
08/03/08
After just finishing your letter
Today I received in the mail,
My phone rings then answering I hear
You have a collect call from Sedgwick County Jail.
I listen to the instructions
then quickly press zero,
The pricey countdown then starts
and goes to quickly we already know.
You ask about our son and how I am feeling
I say my back hurts but I am fine,
You ask what time for visit on Monday
I tell you sometime after nine.
You then say how much you miss me
and that you are so ready to come home
I say I love and miss you too
and agree I am tired of being alone.
Then there is the unwanted beep
and annoying recorded voice,
The sixty second warning
forced to end our call without a choice.
Quickly saying goodnight and I love you
I miss you baby and then goodbye
Hearing only silence I hang up the phone
sitting and smiling while trying not to cry.
